About Assisi Church
The foundation stone of Kakkanad Church was laid on September 8, 1966, on land donated by Adv. P. A. Francis, following the direction of Cardinal Mar Joseph Parecattil, the Metropolitan of the Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocese. The church was completed and blessed by Cardinal Parecattil on March 18, 1967
St. Francis Assisi
Saint Francis of Assisi was an Italian Catholic friar, deacon, and preacher known for his love of nature, humility, and devotion to poverty. He founded the Franciscan Order, emphasizing compassion, charity, and care for the poor. Saint Francis also received the stigmata and composed the Canticle of the Sun, praising God's creation.

In times of joy, we thank her; in moments of trial, we cling to her. Her image reminds us that we are never alone, for she is truly our Mother—always ready to help, always leading us closer to Christ.
